Petherbridge Bassra Family Law - we're on your side

Resolving financial issues can be distressing and hotly contested because of what is at stake. Individual circumstances vary widely but the principles used in all cases in reaching a fair resolution are the same.

We will advise you regarding all of the options available to you in reaching a settlement including mediation and collaborative law and we use proactive methods to shorten the usual timespan of financial cases.

Where there are business assets or complex trust issues we will use forensic accountants particularly if there is a concern that assets are being diverted or undervalued.

We have developed various packages designed with these circumstances in mind. Where matters have been agreed between you and your spouse we will resolve matters for you on a fixed fee basis. In cases where assets do not exceed £600k we can provide "capped fees" and work to an agreed budget for you. For cases where assets exceed £600k we will discuss your particular requirements and agree fees with you.

The key is transparency and flexibility in approach.

What financial claims can be made?

You can make claims against each other for any or all of the following:

1. Maintenance (income payments) - to satisfy an income needs of spouse
2. Altering ownership of property i.e. transfer of house from joint names to sole names
3. Lump sums ie capital payments
4. Pensions Sharing Order - to share a pension between both spouses
5. School Fees Order to ensure education is not disputed

We will discuss your particular requirements and needs as we fully recognise that no two families are alike.
